Tomas Garcia Named Top Lawyer Under 40 by HNBA
Tomas Garcia, an associate with Modrall Sperling, has been named to the Hispanic National Bar Association’s “Top Lawyers Under 40” list. The award celebrates the accomplishments and contributions of HNBA members who have distinguished themselves in the legal profession.
As a member of the firm’s litigation department, Tomas’ practice includes a variety of commercial, healthcare, torts/personal injury, and transportation litigation. He has experience representing business professionals in corporate disputes, healthcare facilities and medical professionals in malpractice and regulatory matters, governmental entities in matters arising under the New Mexico Tort Claims Act, and commercial transportation companies in state and federal court.
Tomas is immediate past-chair of the State Bar of New Mexico Young Lawyers Division, where he regularly provided much-needed services, such as drafting wills for emergency first responders, preparing advanced healthcare directives and power-of-attorney documents for low-income senior citizens, and mentoring first-year law students at the University of New Mexico School of Law.
He has achieved an AV® rating from Martindale-Hubbell based on a peer review and has been recognized by Southwest Super Lawyers® as a Southwest Rising Star. He was named “Young Lawyer of the Year” in 2015 by the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association.
The HNBA National Awards Committee presented Tomas with the award at its HNBA Corporate Counsel Conference in March, 2018 in San Francisco.
