American Bar Association Honors Garcia
Tomas Garcia of Modrall Sperling has been awarded an American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division scholarship for the 2014 – 2015 bar year. Designed to provide opportunities for greater ABA participation of minority, solo/small firm and military service attorneys, sixteen scholarships were awarded to attorneys across the nation to provide partial funding for attending the ABA YLD meetings during the year. As an ABA YLD Scholar, Tomas will be appointed to one of the ABA YLD boards.
Tomas serves on the board of directors for the State Bar of New Mexico YLD, the public service arm of the State Bar. He coordinates and regularly participates in service projects, such as drafting wills for emergency first responders, preparing advanced healthcare directives and power-of-attorney documents for low-income senior citizens, and mentoring first-year law students at the University of New Mexico School of Law.
