Modrall Sperling Receives Special Award for Pro Bono Service
Susan Miller Bisong, a shareholder at Modrall Sperling, accepted the Volunteer Attorney Program’s Special Award at this year’s Volunteer Attorney Appreciation Luncheon. The firm was honored for its ongoing commitment to providing no- and low-cost legal services to citizens across the area, including the low-income seniors, victims of domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, emergency responders, and veterans.
Modrall Sperling’s attorneys donated more than 2,400 pro bono hours to helping those who might not otherwise have access to legal counsel.
“Our attorneys worked on wide-ranging pro bono projects involving land title disputes, water rights and landlord/tenant disputes,” says Susan, who supports the firm’s efforts by staffing each matter with the attorneys best able to help out. “We receive notification of those who need pro bono help through the Immigrant Law Center, by serving on the New Mexico Disciplinary Board, through Christian Legal Aid, and by participating in Law LaPalooza, Wills for Heroes, and the Second Judicial Civil Legal Services Clinic.”
