Overview
Robert Curl is an associate in the firm’s Natural Resources Department, assisting with matters involving mining, renewable energy, and oil and gas.
Robert received his J.D. from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, graduating magna cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif. As a law student, Robert joined the Arizona State Law Journal, where he served as a Managing Editor and co-chair of the Write-On Exam Committee. His comment, Mining Our Own Business: The Critical Mineral Supply Chain and the General Mining Law of 1872, was published in the Arizona State Law Journal in the summer of 2024.
Prior to law school, Robert worked as a classical musician in Chicago. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in bassoon performance from the University of Southern California and Roosevelt University, respectively. Highlights of Robert’s performance career include playing with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and spending summers as a bassoon fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center and Aspen Music Festival.
Robert enjoys hiking, cooking, attending the Santa Fe Opera, and spending time with his dog Kiwi.
