Modrall Sperling welcomes new attorneys

Robert Curl, Ryan Sanchez, Justin Starr and Gretchen Wendlandt

Modrall Sperling is pleased to announce that Robert Curl, Ryan Sanchez, Justin Starr and Gretchen Wendlandt have joined the firm’s Albuquerque office as associate attorneys.

 

Robert Curl

Robert Curl practices in the Natural Resources Department, assisting with matters involving mining, renewable energy, and oil and gas. Robert received his J.D. from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, graduating magna cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif. As a law student, Robert joined the Arizona State Law Journal, where he served as a Managing Editor and co-chair of the Write-On Exam Committee.

 

Ryan SanchezRyan Sanchez focuses his practice on estate planning and taxation. Ryan graduated magna cum laude from the UNM School of Law. While in law school, he completed an externship with Justice Julie J. Vargas at the New Mexico Supreme Court. Upon graduation, Ryan received the Faculty Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the law school community. Prior to joining Modrall Sperling, Ryan served as a judicial law clerk for Judge Megan P. Duffy at the New Mexico Court of Appeals.

 

Justin StarrJustin Starr assists with matters involving estate planning, trust administration, and tax. While in law school, Justin gained a variety of valuable experiences. He completed judicial externships with Judge James O. Browning at the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, and Judge Megan P. Duffy at the New Mexico Court of Appeals. Justin also served as the manuscript editor for the Natural Resources Journal, and tutored Contracts I and Elements of Legal Argumentation II.

 

Gretchen Wendlandt Gretchen Wendlandt practices in the transactional group at Modrall Sperling. Her focus is predominantly on estate planning matters. Gretchen earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Illinois Wesleyan University. She moved to New Mexico in 2019 to attend law school at UNM where she graduated summa cum laude and earned membership to the Order of the Coif. Prior to joining Modrall Sperling, Gretchen clerked for the Honorable Katherine A. Wray of the New Mexico Court of Appeals.
