Overview
Yarithza Peña practices in Modrall Sperling’s Natural Resources department. Her practice is centered on the representation of oil and gas operators in compulsory pooling actions, and clients who seek drilling approvals for both vertical and horizontal, salt water disposal, and acid gas injection wells before the New Mexico Oil Conservation Division and the Oil Conservation Commission.
Yari grew up in Albuquerque, where she completed her undergraduate education and attended the University of New Mexico School of Law. During law school, she helped individuals navigate landlord-tenant disputes within the context of the COVID-19 Pandemic. She also gained experience in trial practice, criminal law, family law, and various immigration law matters during her time in the Community Lawyering Clinic. Yari currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Natural Resources, Energy and Environmental Law Section of the State Bar of New Mexico.
When Yari is not practicing law, she enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog.
